May Events!

Hi everyone,

We hope that those of you who attended the museum tour on Tuesday had a great time; we’ve got another selection of exciting events planned for this month, and we can’t wait to see you all again.

In addition – in case you hadn’t heard – the QA Programme is rebranding!  From the beginning of the Autumn semester, we will be known as HIntSS (The Humanities International Student Society).  Why not take a few minutes to explore our new website?

Without further ado, we present our events for the next month:

May 12th 20:00 – Eurovision Semi-Final

The QA Programme Lounge

Join us in the QA Lounge (Ground Floor, Building 22, South Campus), for Europe’s favourite international song contest.  What better way to celebrate the diversity of our international community than by tuning in together, to celebrate some of our respective countries’ contributions to the world of music and culture?

The show, which will be televised in the Lounge, does not start until 21:00, but members are welcome to arrive from 20:00.  This will be a very informal and relaxed event, so feel free to bring your own blankets and pillows for extra comfort, if you wish.  The sofas are soft and the chairs are supportive, but the Lounge is a space to make your own.  Snacks will be provided, but please bring your own beverages.  Participation is, of course, free.

May 20th 14:00 – KU Festival

Nørre Campus, Københavns Universitet

For those of you that have never attended the KU Festival before, it is the highlight of the year at the University of Copenhagen.  A 10-hour outdoor music festival, with multiple stages, food stands and bars, the festival is held each year on North Campus.  It is free to attend, but you will need your KU student ID card in order to enter.  Please note that you are not allowed to bring your own alcoholic drinks onto the festival site.  Drinking alcohol is, of course, optional.

Read more about the KU Festival.

We are pleased to announce that the QA Programme will again be present at the festival this year, though we will determine a meeting location and time closer to the date.  If you wish to attend the Festival independently, with friends or in your mentor groups, that is of course fine, but we hope to see some of you there!  It is not possible for guests who are not associated with the university (students or staff) to attend the festival, so remember to bring your IDs!

June 01st 15:30 – QA Programme Send-Off

The QA Programme Lounge

The QA Programme send-off is our end of semester celebration for those mentees and mentors who will be leaving us soon.  All members are welcome to attend this celebration of the ever-changing international community here at the Faculty of Humanities.

More details will be released closer to the date, but we hope that as many of you will be able to attend this event as possible.  The send-off is always fun and often emotional.  Some of you may have formed close freindships during your time in the programme and this is your opportunity to spend one last day in eachother’s company, reflecting on your different experiences of life in Denmark.  Of course, some of you might choose to keep in touch for years to come; if you do, we know that this semester will have been a success.  It is, naturally, free to attend the send-off.

That’s all from us for now, but we look forward to seeing you at one of our events very soon.  In the meantime, we wish you all the best with any end-of-semester assessments.  Good luck!
